Summit Career College (SCC) was incorporated in the state of California in June of 1990 and began offering classes in May of 1991. The college was designed to accommodate the training needs of individuals who were participating in vocational rehabilitation through the California Worker's Compensation system. Due to the popularity of its programs, SCC now offers its programs to participants of WIA programs, Veterans, and the general public.
The educational mission of Summit Career College is to provide short term, high quality vocational training programs to qualified students in the medical and business fields, which will enable them to attain employment in entry-level positions. Incorporated with this mission are our goals to provide instruction in a professional, educational environment through the use of modern equipment, small class sizes, qualified industry experienced instructors and teaching methodologies that provide for individualized instruction and maximum retention. Our programs are designed to teach the skills needed to perform in a chosen field of training in a short time frame. The programs are intensive and demanding, but the education and skills attained will be well worth the effort.

Instruction is in facilities with an occupancy level accommodating a maximum of 450 students at any one time. California statute requires that a student, who successfully completes a course of study, be awarded an appropriate diploma or certificate verifying the fact.
Prospective enrollees are encouraged to visit the physical facilities of the school and to discuss personal educational and occupational plans with school personnel prior to enrolling or signing enrollment agreements. This school currently does have available sponsored programs, government or otherwise, to provide grants or to pay for portions of tuition and fees. Summit Career College participates in the following federal and state sponsored loan and grant programs: Federal Stafford Loan (formerly Guaranteed Student Loan), Pell Grant, Supplemental Educational Opportunities Grant, Unsubsidized Stafford Loan program, Federal Plus Loan program, and Federal Work Study program.
The Radiology and Coronal Polishing courses within the Dental program meet the requirements established by the Committee on Dental Auxiliaries (COMDA) for certification as Radiological Safety and Coronal Polishing courses. There are no other state boards, bureaus, departments or agencies that set minimum standards for your program of studies in accordance with Education Code 94860.

Summit Career College and its programs is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) a private accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. The accreditation process is voluntary for private, postsecondary institutions and consists of a detailed examination and periodic review of the educational curriculums, instructors, facilities, equipment, administration, policies and procedures, financial stability and overall management of the institution according the accrediting agency's standards and guidelines.
