I was a high school student. After graduating from high school, I wanted to do something that was fast and easy, so I could be on my way. I chose Summit College because it had a fast-paced LVN program that was easy to get through, Monday through Friday, no summers, straightforward.
What I liked about Summit College is that my instructors, both theory and clinical, helped incredibly.
I like my current job because I’m able to give back all the teaching and all the knowledge that I obtained at Summit to students who will be the future of the nursing practice. Summit College changed my life by bettering the person that I am. I have more confidence. I’m able to publicly speak and talk to people in general. I want to encourage people to come to Summit College because of the great attitude and atmosphere on campus, and all the knowledge you can gain. It’s amazing what you could get from Summit.
I worked for a California surf company. After the bad economy hit, they had to lay off some people, and unfortunately I was one of them. I was sitting at home, so I took a shot and I came to Summit. I took a tour and saw what I got to learn. The hands-on training. The one-on-one instruction. The communication between the students and the teachers. I looked at other courses at other schools and they offered similar type programs, but the thing with Summit was that it had more of a core, more of a family.
I chose the medical billing and coding program because I knew that the medical field is a vital part of our community and society and we’ll always have a vast need for medical workers via doctors, nurses or in my case medical billers and coders. When I went to class I started learning things that would be applicable in the workplace, so I wasn’t just getting the books, I was learning hands-on skills too. I learned from mentors that I knew when I reflected back after being done with school and graduating into the workplace, I could call them anytime.
I am so surprised when I go to work every day. I look forward to it. I never know who I’m going to meet. I never know who I’m going to help. And I’m always learning something new. It has changed my life for the better. I have a job that I could depend on and go to every day. I have work that I could be proud of and share with people. I have a direction and could only go up from here. Going to Summit would be a good turning point for you if you wanted to get into the medical field or take other courses that they offer. They’ll help you. It’s ultimately up to you to get to where you need to be, but Summit’s a good, good asset to have to help you get there.
Prior to enrolling at Summit I was doing my pre-requisites for the RN program. I’m still on the waiting list for the program. So I’m glad I did the LVN program so I could do the bridge program and get in a lot faster. I heard about Summit College and saw TV commercials. I saw the building while driving and I walked in. And when I came in here I felt so welcomed. I really felt at home. The person who helped me was very nice and gave me all the answers. She walked me through the process.
What I loved about Summit College [was] the instructors. They’re always there for you. Anytime I needed extra help they were there. And I also really loved the hands-on experience at the clinical sites. It was awesome.
The training at Summit College prepared me, not only with the courses and education within the medical field, but also to communicate better in general, with English and grammar too. It was all incorporated. It really helped me overall.
Choosing the LVN program at Summit College has been the best move for me because it’s given me focus in my life. I have not only a job, I have a career. I know it’s said a lot, but I really feel that way. I learned a lot from Summit. And it’s part of my life.
I actually love nursing. I love what I do and every day I use the skills I learned at Summit. I’ve always wanted to work in the medical field. I now want to be a doctor, and I’m on my way, starting out as a nurse.
What I would tell a friend if he or she was considering enrolling at Summit is, “Definitely go for it. You learn a lot, you meet a lot of great people from all areas of life, and go for it. No turning back.”
I have a career with stability. I can go anywhere, anyplace, anytime and get a job, and I love it!
I worked at the casino as a housekeeper and wanted a change because I just needed something else out of my life. I heard about Summit through a coworker and when we came to check out the school we saw that these were the nicest people. Everybody helped me. There was no pressure. My coworker and I both decided to sign up together, and it’s just been awesome.
I chose the legal program because I love helping people. What I like about Summit are the teachers. They’re all certified in what they teach us. The environment is friendly, but everyone gets what they need to get done.
What I like about my current job is helping people get what they need out of the legal system. I love seeing the smiles on their faces when I help them. The hands-on training at Summit helps me every day and changed my life because it gave me confidence. It gave me the foundation for the knowledge I now have about legal processes, going through the court system, and all the laws and procedures. I would tell a friend if they asked whether to enroll, absolutely! It’s great here. I love it.
I was a customer service rep. for a warehouse. I saw an ad in the paper for Summit College, and I decided to visit the school. I liked the campus. It was very clean. The staff was very friendly. They were not pushy about enrolling.
The instructors are great, and choosing the dental assistant program was the best move for me because it gave me confidence in myself. The training at Summit College gave me the foundation and confidence to go out into the job world and feel that I could do what I was trained to do.
Summit has changed my life in a very positive way. I feel good about what I’m doing. I feel proud, and I tell people, “If you’re not happy about where you’re at right now, it just takes one call and going to school to change your life.”
I was working dead end jobs. I realized that was not the way for me and that I needed to get certified in something and get my career started because wasting time working dead end jobs was not getting me anywhere. I heard about Summit through a family friend at a Christmas party and a year later I saw Summit College as I drove by and thought I should check it out. I came in, spoke to the admissions reps. They gave me a tour, and I saw how well the instructors worked with the students one-on-one. I thought, “I have to be here. This is the place for me.”
I chose the business information program because I’ve always had a love for computers and wanted to learn about them. I also wanted to learn about business because one day I want to open my own business.
At my current job, I enjoy the fast-paced environment, meeting new people and just applying all the things I learned in my business administration program. Meeting new people is the best thing about my job. It’s nice having that confidence because that’s what Summit gave me, the newfound confidence to just go out there and just be happy and enjoy life. If you feel like you want a career and want to just start over, Summit is the place for you. Summit will give you confidence, a career, and a door back to finding a new job when things don’t work out at your current job.
