Amy, Computerized Office Administration
Before Summit Career College
Amy had been employed as an assistant manager for a local fast food restaurant. And while
she was earning a living, her work schedule of nights and weekends was difficult on her family.
Looking for a different career path became a very important issue for Amy. But what are her
choices? Her decision eventually was to continue with her education. After researching several colleges, she selected Summit Career College and the Computerized Business course.
While at Summit Career College
Upon starting at Summit Amy strived to be a solid student in class. "I was very eager and
receptive to learning" Amy said. She pride herself asking questions and helping her fellow students who might be struggling. She also was impressed by Serge her instructor, and his
method of teaching that captured the class's attention. Eventually her months of hard work had
paid off when she graduated with honors, top in her class! "It didn't hit me until our graduation
ceremony with my friends and family in attendance. It was a feeling of accomplishment." Amy mentioned.
After Summit Career College
It has been seven years since graduation day, during that time Amy had become a very successful office manager for a Manufacturing company. She also made a point to visit Serge whenever she was in the neighborhood, "it was nice to stay in-touch." It was during one of those visits when an interesting thing happened. Summit had been attempting to fill a position in its placement department. We are proud to announce that Amy accepted the position as a coordinator for Summit Career College. Congratulations Amy on a very successful journey.
Brandi, Dental Assistant
Before Summit Career College
Quite often, the decisions we make in the past can affect our future. Brandi's past included some poor decisions, which not only affected her, but also her children. "When I enrolled in the dental program at Summit, it was about commitment. I had to prove to myself and my children that I was determined to change my life, I wanted to be successful."
While at Summit Career College
Brandi worked and studied hard. She led a busy life with school, a part-time job as a server and a full time position as a mother. Brandi was constantly tired; she never slept. The key to her success was never giving up, always trying to do her best. When Brandi received her first academic report, she earned straight A's. Brandi's success was her motivation. Her best paid off. She was Valedictorian of her dental class.
After Summit Career College
Brandi's externship was at Moreno Valley Dental Center. There she received hands on training and was able to utilize the skills she learned at Summit in an office setting. Upon completing her externship, Brandi started working in the dental field. Brandi is now very confident in her abilities and skills. Brandi knows she will always be in demand because she is hardworking, efficient, and confident as a dental assistant. Now, Brandi is a single mother who works to support her children and loves it. Her future goal is to become a dental hygienist.
Ava, Licensed Vocational Nurse
Before Summit Career College
Ava was set on becoming an LVN. She was a full time student at a local community college and waiting for an acceptance to the nursing program. She started to think she might never be accepted. Ava was tired of waiting to start her career. A friend told her about Summit Ava thought about her future and knew what was right.
While at Summit Career College
Ava was able to start on a fast-paced track to her future goals. She started a week late into the LVN program but she didn't let that stop her from getting good grades. Ava's mom was her support system and assisted her when she needed the extra help. There were constant ups and downs, but she knew it was worth it and she kept on trying. Eventually Ava became an A student. Summit had changed her life drastically.
After Summit Career College
Shortly after attending Summit, Ava took the boards exams. She waited with anticipation for the results. On her birthday, she received the letter and was scared to see the results. A friend opened the letter only to find she had passed the test! What a nice birthday surprise and more the reason to celebrate. Now Ava is a Charge Nurse she admits patients, discharges patients, gives medications to patients, and observes for side effects. She enjoys her career and has future goals of becoming a forensic nurse, but for now, she is taking it one-step at a time. At Summit, Ava learned that everything eventually falls into place, but not without a little hard work and determination.
